Filming at Markenfield

Crenellated in 1310, surrounded by a moat, access to the main hall through a Tudor gatehouse and surrounded by historic outbuildings and sheds , as well as a Courtyard, orchards and woodland, Markenfield , with its untouched vaulted ceilings in the House and magnificent Great Hall and it’s unique role in the nations heritage  and Royal History, is a rarely used location for filming.

Partly this is due to it’s remote location as it’s not seen from the main road and partly because we are tempted to keep it’s history, beauty and serenity to ourselves!

It has featured in historical programmes and documentaries and has only occasionally been used as a location for films and TV so it still has the potential to surprise and enchant audiences.

The current Administrator is a former industry professional who completely understands the challenges and requirements of using locations for filming and is ideally placed to discuss with Location Scouts, Managers and Producers,  the possibilities of using the Hall.
