Famous as the birthplace of Lord Darnley, husband of Mary Queen of Scots, Temple Newsam is known as “the Hampton Court of the North”‘. Now set imposingly above the A1M, the Hall began life as a courtyard house in 1520. It now houses rich collections of wallpapers, textiles, silver and ceramics.
