We have opportunities for the public to visit us on selected dates only from April to October each year.
We are open on specific dates for Historic House members and also for our own Markenfield Tours. These all takes place on published dates Monday to Fridays, mornings only.

We are not open for tours at weekends.
All tours are subject to numbers and if we have to cancel a tour due to lack of attendance we will endeavour to transfer your ticket to another date.

ACCESS STATEMENT
Markenfield is a Grade 1 listed building and this presents certain accessibility limitations.
Tours start in the car park and take in the Tudor gatehouse. Within the Gatehouse is a ground floor unisex toilet. It is not suitable for wheelchair access and doorways are narrow.
A short walk on a well maintained gravel path takes you to the exterior of the Hall and into the hall itself.
There is a Unisex toilet sited in the Undercroft down two stone stairs with hand rail access. The toilet is in the fomer lock up and offers an extremely unusual experience!
On the ground floor all rooms have narrow doorways and often a slight change in levels.
The Great Hall, Chapel and 4 Poster room are accessed via a large staircase which is wide with a normal stair tread and handrails either side. There is a change in level from the hall to the Chapel and corridors are narrow but well illuminated.
The house is not suitable for large wheelchairs or mobility chairs. A limited number of portable chairs and walkers can be left downstairs in a small alcove.
Any further questions on Accessibility please contact our Administrator who will be happy to discuss with you.
Tours last approximately 90 minutes with some walking but there is seating available in the Undercroft, Great Hall and Chapel.
